Shawn Anthony Hott, a 36-year-old Maryland man, had to be carried to an officer's patrol car in the bucket of a farmer's tractor after he collapsed behind his truck. Officers attempted to stop Hott who fled by way of farm fields, nearly hitting a heard of cows in Glenville, Pennsylvania. When Hott finally surrendered, he collapsed behind his truck which almost ran over him as it drifted backwards. Hott was arrested for DUI.
The Loudoun County Sheriff's office is requesting anyone with information on the whereabouts of Joseph S. Schrotz contact them. Schrotz is wanted for grand larceny, disregarding a signal to stop, reckless driving and driving on a revoked license as a result of a December 11th pursuit of a stolen car. Erwin Brower, a 27-year old Henrico County man, died Saturday while attempting to elude police on I-95. Brower was reportedly one of three bikes traveling more than 100 mph with Virginia State Police in pursuit. He died at the scene after crashing his bike, a Suzuki GSX-R600 into a guardrail. One of the other riders was arrested later at him home and is set to appear in Colonial Heights court on January 26th.
Colby Eppard, of Standardsville, Virginia, set in motion a multi-agency pursuit after refusing to stop for police following a hit-and-run crash. Eppard fled from his vehicle on foot and eventually stole a police car to continue his getaway. The chase spanned multiple counties and ended in the exchange of gunfire. No officers were injured by the gunfire, but Colby Eppard was killed. Eppard was 18-years old. The incident is under routine investigation by state police and internal agency.
