Mickey Ray Poston, 46-years-old, and Rhonda Michelle Hess, 39-years-old, were taken to Bristol Regional Medical Center by helicopter following a head-on collision with a game warden at Hungry Mother State Park in Marion, VA on New Year’s Eve.  Conservation Police Officer Daniel Craig Hall suffered minor injuries and was taken to Smyth County Hospital.  Poston was ultimately charged with drunk driving.  Interestingly, at the time of the crash, Hess was seated in Poston’s lap.  Virginia State Police Sgt, Steve E. Lowe: “As to what they were engaged in, you can drawn your own conclusions.  She was on his lap – we’re going to leave it at that.”  Lowe could not confirm whether Hess was facing the street or Poston, however reportedly “she had back injuries likely from the impact of the steering wheel.”
