VA Beach Mother, Not Guilty of Child Endangerment, Guilty of DUI

Comments (0)

In August, Heather Maiers was arrested for DUI in Chesapeake.  She was stopped for going 50 mph in a 35 mph zone.  Maiers had her 3-month old baby in the car and a BAC of .13%.  Monday, Chesapeake Judge A. Bonwill Shockley found Maiers guilty of the DUI and not guilty of the child endangerment charge.  Shockley considered the 2006 DUI conviction of Maiers in sentences as requested by Prosecutor Gordon Ufkes.  Maiers received a $750 fine and a 6-month jail sentence, with all but 20 days suspended.
