Manassas Lawyer Gets Reckless Driving - Accident Charge Reduced

A client recently contacted The Wilson Law Firm regarding a Reckless Driving ticket she was issued after being involved in an accident.  She was nervous and upset about being accused of Reckless Driving, a Class 1 misdemeanor criminal offense in Virginia with punishments including a fine, suspension of one's license and incarceration, and she decided to hire Manassas, Virginia DUI, Criminal and Traffic Defense Lawyer, T. Kevin Wilson to handle her case.  An investigation of the case revealed that she was driving at the speed limit, following at a safe distance and not distracted by texting, talking on the phone, eating, putting on make-up or any of the other things which take attention away from driving, when suddenly the car in front of her swerved out of her lane and revealed another vehicle stopped ahead of her in her lane of travel.  She hit her brakes but the roads were wet due to rain and she slid into the stopped vehicle. 

The law in Viriginia says that to be guilty of Reckless Driving one must be driving in a dangerous manner, and Attorney Kevin Wilson believed that even though this client slid into another vehicle, she was not driving dangerously, and therefore was not guilty of Reckless Driving.  T. Kevin Wilson went to court to fight for his client, and in the end he was successful in getting the charge reduced from the misdemeanor criminal offense of Reckless Driving to the non-criminal traffic infraction of Improper Driving.
