Last September a Front Royal man fled the scene of an accident that claimed the life of his passenger. The fatal accident occurred on Va. 277 on September 21, 2010, in which a pickup truck went off the road and flipped, ejecting the passenger.

This past Thursday, May 19, 2011, Kevin Wayne Beahm pleaded guilty to driving on a suspended license and to reckless driving in VA Frederick County Circuit Court.

Beahm, the 35-year-old driver, committed a felony hit-and-run, and was sentenced to 90 days in jail for reckless driving, and one year for driving on a suspended license. However, Judge Ben Kendrick suspended all sentencing for reckless driving and six months of the 12 months for driving on a suspended license. The judge also gave Beahm a 10 year sentence for the hit-and-run, with nine years suspended.

Beahm now has to serve one year in jail for leaving the accident scene. He was also ordered to serve two years of supervised probation. He was fined $250 for leaving the scene of the accident.
