On Saturday, May 7, 2011, a man was arrested and charged with reckless driving in northern Virginia. Officials said that the male driver was traveling in the wrong direction on Interstate 95 near Quantico.

Sergio A. Alvarenga-Vasquez, of Fredericksburg, struck a car head-on while he was driving the wrong-way on I-95. Virginia State Police indicate that Vasquez was traveling south in the northbound lanes when he hit the other vehicle.

Vasquez was driving a 1993 Ford Explorer and collided with a 1996 Volvo around 9:45 p.m. Saturday night. The 34-year-old driver escaped from the scene, but police later found him walking on I-95 near Dumfries and the exit for Route 234.

He was arrested and is being held in Price William Regional Jail.

The three female occupants of the other car were seriously injured and hospitalized after this wrong-way crash.

The Wilson Law Firm wishes the three Volvo occupants a full and speedy recovery.
