Attorney Christian R. Fernandez was born and raised in New Jersey, where he graduated from Rutgers University. He went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from American University, Washington College of Law in Washington, DC.
While in law school, Mr. Fernandez participated in the clinical program to provide legal services to indigent clients in Maryland and the District of Columbia. Through this experience, Mr. Fernandez discovered his passion for client-centered representation – putting his clients and their needs first at all stages of representation.
After passing the Virginia bar examination, Mr. Fernandez opened a boutique law firm in Arlington, Virginia. He spent the next few years dedicated to assisting clients with various legal issues ranging from transactional law to civil litigation and, of course, criminal defense. Mr. Fernandez ultimately left his firm to practice litigation exclusively.
Prior to joining The Wilson Law Firm, Mr. Fernandez spent several years working for two small firms in Northern Virginia, focusing his efforts on criminal defense. In this capacity, Mr. Fernandez has represented clients across Northern Virginia, in the District of Columbia, and before local federal courts in matters ranging from traffic infractions and misdemeanor offenses to felonies.
Mr. Fernandez is passionate about defending the rights of the accused and understands that facing criminal charges is stressful. He believes that building an honest and transparent relationship with clients is paramount to alleviating that stress and achieving better outcomes.
Mr. Fernandez is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia, as well as before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
In his free time, Mr. Fernandez enjoys cooking, martial arts, and spending time with his wife and young son.
